ALBUM REVIEW: "COLE WORLD: THE SIDELINE STORY" - J COLE

J Cole made it! He now has his own album. We 've been waiting for 2 years!!! His Roc Nation debut album is called "Cole World: The Sideline Story" and includes features from big names such as Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Drake and Trey Songz and includes 16 tracks.
Let's start from the cover: We see J Cole sitting on bench in the center of a hall in a locker room. On the bottom right corner we read: J COLE, Cole World the sideline story. Quite simple!
I hit play on my ipod and after "Intro", "Dollar And A Dream" comes as the first song and leaves a great taste! "Can't Get Enough" fetures Trey Songz and it is familiar as  we 've seen its videoclip a few days ago, here on HitMotMusic. "Lights Please" is another very good produced song. After that is the "Interlude" and then "Sideline Story": very good music with piano strings. "Mr Nice Watch" brings us to the second feture of the album, and it is Jay-Z!!! The production differs from the songs up to now but stays on a high level. Number 8 is "Cole World" that didn't caught my attention... "In The Morning" features Drake and as expected is a nicely produced low key song talking about a girl. "Lost Ones" really impressed me both with its music and lyrics. Next is the Missy Elliott - featured song: "Nobody's Perfect" and the mix of  Cole and Missy is delicious!!! "Never Told" talks about the male-female dynamic. "Rise And Shine" prooves Cole's rapping capability. He goes hard from the very start of the song but it seems that he still lacks some power. Next on the list is "God's Gift" and then "Breakdown" that i find great from the first beat and "Work Out" which was the lead single closes the album on a high level!!!
The album will definately get your attention. The productions are on a very high level and J Cole's raps seems to follow the productions! He is here to stay for sure!!!!
